Offensively for the Scarlet Knights they ranked 120th in the country passing the football. Throwing the football for the Scarlet Knights is Kyle Bolin. Bolin is 73 of 133 (54%), 711 yards, three touchdowns, and six interceptions. To say throwing the football has been a struggle for Rutgers would be an understatement. The leading receiver for Rutgers is Jerome Johnson. Johnson has 16 catches for 141 yards and one touchdown.

Rutgers is a bit better running the football as they rank 58th in the nation. Leading the ground attack for the Knights is Gus Edwards. Edwards 93 rushes for 393 yards (4.2 YPC) and four touchdowns. Defensively Rutgers ranks about middle of the back in FBS. They are 47th against the run, 70th against the pass, and 61st in scoring defense. Leading the Rutgers defense is linebacker Trevor Morris. Morris 45 total tackles, 16 solo, and two tackles for loss. Purdue will have to get back to basics on offense; running the football. Markell Jones and D.J. Knox could have a big game Saturday, taking some pressure off of the quarterback.

Purdue has far and away exceeded expectations this season, already surpassing their projected total wins. Purdue is now eyeing a potential bowl game. If they want to play a 13th game, they have to win games like this one Saturday.
