Pacers/Pelicans Game Postponed Due to Leaky Arena Roof

NEW ORLEANS – In a wild turn of events, Wednesday’s Indiana Pacers (30-25) game versus the New Orleans Pelicans (28-25) has been rained out. Yes, not the Indianapolis Indians, but the Pacers.

Heavy rain in the New Orleans area wreaked havoc at Smoothie King Center, as a leak in the arena roof made the court unplayable. A makeup date has not yet been announced.

Game time was scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET, but the wet floor delayed that start. Officials at the arena located the point of the leak and place a tarp-like contraption underneath, but it would not be enough.

After a delay of over an hour and a half, the NBA officially postponed the contest around 9:45 p.m. ET.

The Pacers are slated to play again on Friday in Boston. Tipoff, weather permitting, is 7:30 p.m.
