Pace Temple and Drew Bevelhimer Take Week One Pioneer Football League Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Butler senior WR Pace Temple earned the first PFL Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. Junior K Drew Bevelhimer was also tagged PFL Special Teams Player of the Week. Both teammates played pivotal roles in the 23-21 comeback win on the road against #24 Youngstown State.

Temple led all FCS receivers with 14 catches, including five during Butler’s final two scoring drives in a 23-21 upset victory at #24 Youngstown State last Saturday. In addition, Temple recovered the on-side kick to set up the game-winning drive on which he had two receptions for 21 yards. He began the day with back-to-back receptions of 31 and 28 yards on Butler’s first touchdown drive. Temple’s lone touchdown was Butler’s second score of the game as he caught a six-yard pass to begin the fourth quarter. Temple caught five of seven completions during the final two scoring drives.

Bevelhimer connected on 44-yard field goal with four seconds left to give Butler a 23-21 victory at No. 24 Youngstown State. After Butler’s two-point conversion try failed, Butler executed an on-side kick recovered by Pace Temple to setup another drive, Bevelhimer then connected on a 44-yard field goal with four seconds left to lift Butler to the win. Bevelhimer connected one 1-of-2 field goal attempts and on both his PATs in the contest. He also saw three of his four kickoffs sail for a touchback.

Butler will return to action on Saturday to face the Taylor Trojans on the road. Kick-off is slated for 6 PM ET.
