INDIANAPOLIS – The 2018 Triple-A All-Star rosters were revealed on Wednesday and for a second consecutive year, the Indianapolis Indians will have three representatives.
Infielder Kevin Newman, outfielder Chris Bostick and reliever Dovydas Neverauskas will suit up for the International League squad in July 11’s showcase against the Pacific Coast League in Columbus.
Newman has had a fantastic 2018 season thus far, batting near the top of the Tribe’s lineup. He currently has a .305 batting average (82-for-269), has clubbed one home run/18 doubles, driven in 18 runs, scored 43 runs and stolen 18 bases. The 24-year-old leads the league in runs scored and stolen bases and ranks in the top ten in hits and doubles.
Bostick is back among the IL’s best for a second straight year after an All-Star selection in 2017. He boasts a .291 average (76-for-261) with four homers, 20 doubles, 28 RBIs and six stolen bases.
Neverauskas, who played in the 2016 MLB All-Star Futures Game, earns his first IL All-Star honor. The right-hander has a 1-2 record, but owns a 1.78 ERA (five earned runs in 25.1 innings pitched) with two saves and 34 strikeouts.
The 2018 Triple-A All-Star Game will be carried on all 30 of the Triple-A’s flagship radio stations live on July 11 and will air on MLB Network on July 18.
