IU to Host Duke in ACC/Big 10 Challenge in December

INDIANAPOLIS – The Big 10 revealed the schedule on Thursday for the annual Big 10/ACC Challenge. This year, the Indiana Hoosiers will once again play host, again, it’s to one of the ACC’s top teams. The dates weren’t yet revealed for the 19th annual challenge, but we now know that the Hoosiers will play the Duke Blue Devils in Bloomington.

Indiana, is 7-9 overall in the challenge, winning last year at home against the eventual national champion the North Carolina Tar Heels (76-67) on Nov. 30. Normally, the teams alternates home, then away, but this year IU gets two straight home games. That’s the first time this has happened for the Hoosiers since they hosted North Carolina in 2004, then Duke in 2005. They’ve also played on the road two straight years too, playing at Boston College in 2010 and at NC State in 2011.

IU has played Duke three other times in the challenge, the last in Durham, North Carolina on Dec. 2, 2015 and lost by 20 (94-74) in Cameron Indoor Arena.

In 2006, Indiana also played at Duke in Durham, falling to the then 10th ranked Blue Devils 54-51. The year prior, Indiana hosted Duke in 2005, falling to the No. 1 ranked Blue Devil team 75-67 in Bloomington.

Duke is 16-2 in the challenge, winning five straight overall.
