JACKSONVILLE, Fl: The Indy Eleven managed to keep their record unscathed as they finished their match against Jacksonville Armada FC with a final score of 1-1, another draw on the season.
This is the Eleven’s 5th straight tie during this season, which awards them 5 points in the standings on the spring portion of the North American Soccer League regular season.
The first goal of the game came before the 30 minute mark, when playmaker for the Eleven, Justin Braun was able to get around Armada’s goalkeeper with some nice footwork, and tap it into the goal to give Indy the lead. This goal for Braun sent him right back up to the top of the ranks for leading scorer in the NASL.
The tieing goal of the game came only 5 minutes later. A free kick was awarded to the Jacksonville FC. Midfielder Jack Blake set the ball perfectly in the range of fellow teammate and forward Jonathon Glenn where he was able to capitalize on it and get it past Indy’s goalkeeper for the score.
The game was a stalemate from this point on as no one would score, leaving the match with a 1-1 final.
The “Boys in Blue” are headed back to town this weekend to face off against FC Edmonton in Michael A. Carroll Stadium on Saturday May 6th with a kickoff time set for 7:00 p.m. ET. The match will be televised on MyINDY-TV23 and also live in game updates can always be followed via the clubs Twitter feed, @IndyElevenLive.
