INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Indians found their offense and managed to win 7-3 over the Louisville Bats on Tuesday night.
After struggling the previous night both at the plate and in centerfield, Chase d’Arnaud was back in the game ready to prove that he just had an off night. He went 3-for-4 at the plate and scored two of the Indians’ seven runs, while also stealing a base.
Jaff Decker made his 13 outfield assist of the season, throwing out Tucker Barnhart at home from left field.
It was Mel Rojas, though, who was the offensive star. He had three RBIs and hit a home run off the foul pole in right field. It’s the same foul pole that if a player hits the target placed on it during the bottom of the fifth inning a special section may have a future millionaire thanks to the Hoosier Lottery.
Jake Brigham returned to the Indians’ rotation and pitched 6.1 innings giving up only two runs on 10 hits. He also earned his third win of the season.
Indian’s Player of the Game:
Mel Rojas was 1-for-3 at the plate, but drove in three of the Tribe’s runs. He also scored two and hit a two-run home run in the third inning to help the Indians to their first victory since they swept the Bats in two games while on the road.
