TOLEDO, OH – An impressive start by pitcher Casey Sadler and another phenomenal performance by Gregory Polanco helped lift the Indianapolis Indians in a wild 11-6 victory over the Toledo Mud Hens on Tuesday night.

Sadler pitched seven scoreless innings with four hits and six strikeouts. Sadler leads Tribe pitchers in total innings pitched so far this season (27) and has impressive strikeout numbers (16) and ERA (1.67) through his first four starts.

Polanco continued his domination of the International League. He went 3-for-5, driving in four runs. He also had a home run on Tuesday night. As of this moment, Polanco has hit safely in 15 of the first 18 games of the season and has a .419 batting average.

Andrew Lambo dominated the Mud Hens, also going 3-for-5, with two doubles and two RBIs.

The Tribe put up six runs in the fifth inning, one in the seventh and four in the eighth. Every Indians batter, with the exception of Lambo and catcher Nevin Ashley came around to score.

Tuesday night’s game was hit-fest as the two teams combined for 17 runs and 24 hits.

Toledo scored all their runs in the eighth inning off Phil Irwin and Cody Eppley. Eppley joined the Tribe for the first time Tuesday. Duke Welker entered the game to pitch the last two-outs of the ninth and earned his first save of the season.

The Tribe faces off with the Mud Hens, again, on Wednesday night for the second game of a four-game series. First pitch is expected to be at 6:30 p.m.
