Indianapolis Blaze start hot, can’t hold on as Columbus takes over

INDIANAPOLIS – With the Indianapolis Blaze playing their first game in the CBA this past Saturday night, they could not envision a better start to the contest, leading Columbus by as many as nine points in the first half. But the visitors, and their veteran experience, handcuffed Indianapolis defensively in the second half, outscoring the hosts by 26 points en route to a comfortable 99-80 victory.

Anthony White led Indianapolis (0-1) with 27 points, with former Butler University-product, Chrishawn Hopkins, chipping in with 15 points. Columbus (2-0) was led by Tihon Johnson with 26 points and Brett McKnight with 22 points.

Final Score: COLUMBUS 99, INDIANAPOLIS 80  Indianapolis travels to Fort Wayne this Saturday night for their first league road game.
