Inclement Weather Keeps Indians Out of Action For Third Straight Day

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – New city, same result for the Indianapolis Indians (4-4).

Monday’s series opener versus the Syracuse Chiefs (6-3) has been postponed due to expected rain and cold temperatures, marking a third consecutive day without baseball for the Tribe. The Indians and Chiefs will look to play a doubleheader on Tuesday, weather permitting. Game one of that twin bill is slated for a 4:05 p.m. start.

Nick Kingham (1-0, 0.82 ERA) is penciled in as Indy’s game one starting pitcher. The Indians’ game two starter has yet to be determined.

Speaking of Kingham, the International League announced on Monday that the right-hander was named the league’s Pitcher of the Week. Kingham pitched 11 innings in his first two starts of the year, giving up just one run on four hits in addition to striking out 16 batters.
