INDIANAPOLIS-The Fever will host the Los Angeles Sparks at Bankers Life Fieldhouse this evening as they try to stick their heads above .500. Along with a visit from the Western Division’s 2nd place team the Fever will also be playing host to something else, something much bigger than a game.
Tonight is the Fever’s annual Inspiring Women Night. Hosted on the practice court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. the event features a variety of speakers and guests and includes a discussion and presentation about women advancement in the workplace and leadership development.
Presented by Merrill Lynch, the seminar hosts a variety of women who will speak to over 200 local women and business representatives who support the rising influence of women in the Indianapolis business community.
Head coach Lin Dunn heads a list of important women who will speak on the importance of women while Jennifer Browning Holmes, Founder and President of Integrating Women Leaders, Inc., will lead the seminar. Individual tickets for the seminar are $65 and a table of ten costs $600. Tickets are still available for the seminar that will be held on the practice court at Bankers Life Fieldhouse tonight by calling (317) 917-2528.
The Fever tip-off against L.A. at 7:00 p.m. as they begin their push towards the playoffs to defend their 2012 WNBA championship. The four inspiring Women honorees will be recognized at halftime of the game tonight.
This will be Indiana’s 10th win in their last 13 games if they defeat the Sparks this evening and of the 15 games remaining in the 2013 regular season, the Fever will play eight teams with below .500 records and will host four of those eight at home in this final stretch.
