INDIANAPOLIS – And now for something completely different.
The Indianapolis Blaze will host its season home opener against the Columbus Condors later on this evening (Saturday, April 2nd). An open house and community meet & greet will take place from 5 pm to 7:15 pm with game following at 8 pm at Shortridge High School (3401 N. Meridian Street).
The Indianapolis Blaze joined the CBA this year, residing in the newly-formed North Division. Playing home games at the historic Shortridge Magnet High School in mid-town Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Blaze plan to bring back that Hoosier basketball hysteria to the Circle City. The Central Basketball Association, founded in 2013, is the fastest-growing minor league basketball organizations in the United States, helping former NCAA athletes advance their basketball careers.
The CBA has helped over 100 players earn professional contracts domestically and internationally, including having its first player reach the NBA ranks, and four players receiving NBA D-League contracts since 2015.
The Blaze invite Indianapolis to come enjoy good old Indiana basketball hysteria with the whole family.
According to Tarah Reid, Indy Blaze Team Owner, “It will be an exciting night of great basketball. This is not only about the basketball; it is also about being the catalyst to build community partnerships and relationships that uplift our children, our community, and our city.”
