Butler Bulldogs Land 2016 Recruit Henry Baddley

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Butler Bulldogs landed a third commitment from the 2016 recruiting class on Thursday. Henry Baddley, a 6-6, 175 lb. wing out of Akron (Ohio) St. Vincent St. Mary joins four star big man Joey Brunk and three star guard Howard Washington. St. Vincent St. Mary happens to be the alma mater of LeBron James. Baddley was offered a scholarship on Wednesday night.

“I am very blessed and excited to announce that I have just officially committed to Butler University,” Baddley tweeted.

In 13 games as a member of King James Elite on the Nike EYBL circuit, Baddley, a known athlete, averaged 5.7 points and connected on 8-of-16 three-point attempts.

Henry Baddley is ranked as a 3-star SF on Scout and is unranked by Rivals, 247 Sports and ESPN. Baddley also drew interest from West Virginia and an offer from Toledo according to 247.

Baddley helped St. Vincent St. Mary’s to a No. 1 ranking in Ohio’s Division II and a 22-0 regular season. It was the Irish’s first unbeaten regular season since LeBron’s freshman year of 1999-2000. St. Vincent St. Mary (26-1) was ranked No. 3 nationally by USA Today before losing to Cleveland Central Catholic 41-36 in a regional final.

Baddley averaged 18.1 points a game and made the all-Ohio Division II second team.

The Akron Beacon-Journal called Baddley the most explosive player on his team.

“When a guy tries to wall up and he’s too far underneath, shame on him,” St. Vincent-St. Mary coach Dru Joyce told the Beacon-Journal. ” Because Henry’s going over him. Those are exciting plays, they give us some energy. At that point, we’re rolling, and there’s not too much that’s going to keep us from getting the victory.”
