Dunham, who ranks fourth in the BIG EAST in scoring (16.6), was named first team All-BIG EAST. He was a second team All-BIG EAST pick a year ago. Jones, playing his first season in the conference, was named to the All-BIG EAST second team. It’s the third different conference which has recognized the 6-4 junior (he was named to the Horizon League All-Newcomer Team in 2011-12 and the Atlantic 10 Conference All-Defensive Team in 2012-13). Jones is currently 12th in the league in scoring (12.9), tied for 17th in rebounding (5.2) and tied for sixth in assists (3.7).

Joining Dunham on the All-BIG EAST first team were D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera of Georgetown, Kris Dunn and LaDontae Henton of Providence, Ryan Arcidiacono and Darrun Hilliard of Villanova and D’Angelo Harrison of St. John’s.

The All-BIG EAST second team was made up of Jones, Matt Carlino of Marquette, Sterling Gibbs of Seton Hall, Sir’Dominic Pointer and Matt Stainbrook of Xavier. Billy Garrett, Jr., of DePaul, Daniel Ochefu of Villanova and JayVaughn Pinkston of Villanova earned honorable mention on the all-conference team.

The BIG EAST Player of the Year will come from the All-BIG EAST First Team. The conference will announce Player of the Year, BIG EAST Coach of the Year, BIG EAST Rookie of the Year and the BIG EAST Scholar-Athlete of the Year on Wednesday, March 11. The announcement will be made on the first day of the BIG EAST Championship Presented by New York Life at Madison Square Garden at 4:30 p.m. ET. Kris Dunn of Providence and Sir’Dominic Pointer of St. John’s share the league’s Defensive Player of the Year Award, Pointer received the Most Improved Player Award and Josh Hart of Villanova was chosen for the Sixth Man Award.

Also honored by the league on Sunday was Butler senior forward Kameron Woods and Butler freshman guard Kelan Martin. Woods was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, after averaging 10.5 points and 14.0 rebounds in Butler’s two games last week. Martin was tabbed BIG EAST Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Bulldogs’ victory at Providence on Saturday (March 7). The freshman from Louisville, Ky., came off the bench and posted 14 points and five rebounds in 19 minutes of action to help the Bulldogs secure a tie for second place in the final BIG EAST standings.

Butler will begin play in the BIG EAST Tournament Presented by New York Life at Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday, March 12. The Bulldogs will face Xavier in their opening game.
