Alex Barlow Earns BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – After landing two on the 2014-15 All-BIG EAST Men’s Basketball Team, the Butler Bulldogs earned another on the initial list of individual special awards. Butler senior guard Alex Barlow, a former walk-on who has started all 31 games for the Bulldogs this season, has been named recipient of the 2014-15 BIG EAST Sportsmanship Award. He was one of four players honored when the BIG EAST Conference office announced its initial list on Monday (March 9).

Also recognized by the BIG EAST were Kris Dunn of Providence, Sir’Dominic Pointer of St. John’s and Josh Hart of Villanova. Dunn and Pointer shared the league’s Defensive Player of the Year Award, Pointer received the Most Improved Player Award and Hart was chosen for the Sixth Man Award. The awards were chosen by a vote of league coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.
